Cookies, web beacons and other technologies

As mentioned above, we collect information from your visits to our websites to gather statistics about usage and effectiveness, personalize your experience, personalize our interactions with you, and improve our products and services. To do this, we use various technologies, including scripts, tags, local shared objects (Flash cookies), local storage tags (HTML5) and cookies.

What are cookies and why are they used?

A cookie is information that a website may send to your browser and that may be stored in your system as a tag that identifies your machine. Although cookies are commonly used to measure website usage (such as number of visitors and length of visit) and its effectiveness (such as the topics that are of most interest to visitors) and to facilitate navigation or use and, as such, are not associated with any personal information, they are also used to personalize the experience of a known visitor to a website by associating it with the user’s profile information or preferences. Over time, this information becomes valuable knowledge to enhance the user experience.

Cookies are typically categorized as "session" or "persistent" cookies. Session cookies help you navigate the website efficiently, recording your progress from page to page so that you are not prompted for information you have already provided during your current visit, or information necessary to complete a transaction. Session cookies are stored in the temporary memory and are deleted when the web browser is closed. Persistent cookies, on the other hand, store user preferences on current and subsequent visits. They are saved to the device's hard disk and are still valid when you restart your browser. We use persistent cookies, for example, to record your choice of language and location.

How to express privacy preferences related to the use of cookies

When you visit our websites or online services, you may be able to define your preferences regarding cookies and other similar technologies by using the options and tools available to you through your browser. Although Enzyme websites do not currently recognize automated browser signals related to tracking mechanisms, such as "do no track" instructions, you can usually indicate your privacy preferences regarding the use of most cookies and similar technologies through your web browser. Search your browser, under the "Tools" heading (or a similar heading), for information on checking cookies. In most cases, you can set your browser to notify you before you receive a cookie, giving you the option to accept it or not. As a rule you can also set your browser to always disable cookies. If you block, disable or reject cookies, you may not be able to view some websites correctly.

Web beacons or other technologies

Some Enzyme websites also use web beacons or other technologies to adapt those websites better to provide better customer service. These technologies can be used on many pages of Enzyme websites. When a visitor accesses these pages, an unidentifiable notice of that visit is generated and may be processed by us or our providers. These web beacons usually work in conjunction with cookies. If you do not want the cookie information to be associated with your visits to these pages or the use of these products, you can disable cookies in your browser. If you disable cookies, web beacons and other technologies will still detect visits to these pages, but they will not be associated with the information stored in cookies.

There are also third parties we are associated with to provide certain features on our website or to display Enzyme advertising on other websites depending on your web browsing activity. They also use Flash cookies or HTML5 to collect and store information.

For example:

We may include web beacons in marketing emails or newsletters to determine if messages have been opened and the links they contained have been clicked.

Online advertising

At Enzyme we do not offer third-party online advertising on our websites, but we do advertise our products and services on third party websites. Please review the privacy policies of these website operators or online advertisers to understand their advertising practices, including the types of information they may collect about your Internet use.

We also work with third parties in managing our advertising on other websites. These third parties may use cookies and web beacons to collect information, such as your IP address, about your activities on Enzyme or other websites in order to provide you with personalized Enzyme advertisements.

Links to Non-Enzyme Sites and Third Party Applications

To enable you to interact with other websites where you may have accounts, (such as Facebook and other social media sites) or to join communities on such sites, we may provide links or integrated third-party applications that allow you to sign in, post content or join communities from our websites. We may also provide you with general links to non-Enzyme websites.

The use of these links and applications will be subject to the privacy policies of third parties and you should therefore familiarize yourself with those policies before using these links or applications. Enzyme is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of these other websites.

We may periodically update this Privacy Statement, as well as other specific privacy statements. When we make changes to this Privacy Statement, we will add a new date at the top of the statement.
